Philmont man arraigned on attempted murder charges

D.A. CZAJKA ANNOUNCES ARRAIGNMENT

Today, November 1, 2019, The Honorable Richard M. Koweek arraigned Jesus Figueroa, age 26, of the Bronx, on the Indictment returned by the Columbia County Grand Jury, charging the defendant with Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.

The Grand Jury alleges Jesus Figueroa committed the crimes in the Town of Copake on October 27th, 2019. The New York State Police (Senior Inv. Eric Barnes, Inv. Craig Morrison), Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, and the Hudson Police Department investigated this matter and arrested Jesus Figueroa. District Attorney Czajka commends the New York State Police for their tireless efforts in this extremely complex and timely investigation, and noted that the investigation is ongoing.

Ryan Carty and Joyce Crawford are prosecuting the case for the District Attorney’s Office. William Galvin, Esq. represents Jesus Figueroa.

Jesus Figueroa is presumed to be innocent unless and until the People prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt to all twelve (12) of twelve (12) jurors.
