State Police investigate fatal ATV crash in Chatham

Chatham, New York – On July 27, 2019, the New York State Police from the New Lebanon barracks investigated a fatal motor vehicle crash on Bushnell Road in the town of Chatham.
At approximately 7:50 p.m., Troopers were dispatched to Bushnell road for an all-terrain-vehicle crash. Initial investigation shows Brandon S. Pitcher, age 27, of Kinderhook, NY, was operating an ATV on Bushnell Road, and failed to negotiate a turn. Pitcher struck a tree, and was not wearing a helmet. He was pronounced deceased on scene.
Chatham Emergency Medical Services, Columbia County Sheriff’s Department, and the Columbia County Coroner’s Office all responded on scene to render aid.
