Man arrested in machete incident, arraigned in county court

On May 30, 2019, Albert Dalton waived indictment and was arraigned in County Court upon being charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree; Menacing in the 2nd Degree; and Harassment in the 2nd Degree, Honorable Jonathan D. Nichols presiding. The New York State Police investigated this matter and arrested Albert Dalton. Dennis McEvoy represents Albert Dalton. Albert Dalton is presumed to be innocent unless and until the People can prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt to all twelve (12) of twelve (12) jurors. (SCI No. 056-19)

Ghent man arrested for menacing his neighbor with a machete

PRESS RELEASE

Ghent, New York – On January 9, 2019, the New York State Police from the Livingston barracks arrested Albert J. Dalton, age 52, of Ghent, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, and Menacing in the 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor.

On January 9, 2019, Troopers responded to an address in the town of Ghent for a 911 call reporting a man armed with a machete who was threatening a neighbor. Dalton was found in possession of the machete, and was taken into custody without incident.

Dalton was arraigned in the Claverack Town Court, and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond. Dalton was ordered to appear in the Ghent Town Court on January 14, 2019, at 6:00 p.m.
